Reykjavik Internet Exchange
RIX is an exchange point for Icelandic internet service providers, where they can exchange IP traffic with each other and thus prevent domestic traffic from flowing through international connections.
RIX is a neutral exchange point where parties that meet certain requirements can connect and exchange traffic with other RIX participants through mutual agreements. Participants connect at 1Gbs/10Gbs/100Gbs and manage their own connections to RIX.
RIX is a member of the European Internet Exchange Association, Euro-IX. RIX is registered in the PeeringDB.com database, and RIX participants are strongly encouraged to register their networks in this database.
