100G Port Expansion

We're excited to announce the successful completion of our 100Gbps port expansion project. Additional 100G ports are now available at all three RIX locations, providing our members with enhanced capacity and flexibility for high-speed peering.

Expanded Capacity

The addition of new 100G ports at Tæknigarður, ISNIC headquarters, and Múlastöð represents a significant infrastructure investment. This expansion ensures we can continue to meet the growing bandwidth demands of our members and maintain our position as Iceland's premier internet exchange point.

Why Upgrade to 100G?

As internet traffic continues to grow exponentially, many of our members are experiencing increased demand on their existing 10G and 40G connections. Upgrading to 100G provides several key benefits for network operators.

First and foremost, 100G connections offer ten times the bandwidth of 10G links and more than double that of 40G connections. This increased capacity allows ISPs and content providers to handle peak traffic loads more efficiently while maintaining headroom for future growth.

We're pleased to announce that our 100G port pricing remains highly competitive. At €325 per month, RIX offers one of the most cost-effective 100G peering options in the Nordic region. This pricing structure makes high-speed connectivity accessible to a broader range of network operators.

Technical Specifications
